GVBL Summer League News

for GVBL Summer League

Join us this Summer for 10 weeks of fun, weeknight basketball. Teams will have 1-2 games per week on Monday through Thursday evenings but no practices. Divisions are single sex for grades 1-2, 3-4, 5-6, 7-8 and Boys High School.

Players of all abilities are welcome; divisions focus on appropriate age level skills and good sportsmanship.

There is no residency requirement for grades 1-8; Boys HS players must reside in the Great Valley School District.

Referees Needed for GVBL Summer Basketball

Students!

Any student from grades 8-12, as of Fall 2024, can add their names on the interest list.

Adults!

Adults are needed to referee and mentor student referees. Participate as much as you like through a weekly online signup. Indicate your interest now.

Girls Summer Basketball Camp

Announcing a full day Girls Summer Basketball camp at the new GVCO Community Center

July 15th through 19th

Monday -Friday

8:30am-3:30pm

1st through 6th grades as of Fall 2024

Hosted by Immaculata Head Women's Basketball Coach

Brittany Whalen and the Immaculata Women's Basketball program.

Camp will be held at the GVCO Community Center and the cost is $215.

Limited registration will open April 16th.

GVHS Girls Basketball Camp - June 17th - 20th 9AM - 2PM

This Summer Basketball Camp is for Girls in grades 4-8 as of Fall 2024.

Skills, drills, games and fun!

Camp will be held at the Great Valley High School Main Gym and the fee is $200.

Coach Werdt Skillz and Drills - June 17th - 21st 8:30AM - 3:30PM

This Summer Basketball Camp is for Boys in grades 3-6 as of Fall 2024.

Savage Elite: Rising Patriots Camp - July 8th-12th

This Summer Basketball Camp is for Boys in grades 5-9 as of Fall 2024.

Camp will be held July 8th-12th from 8:30AM-3:30PM. All sessions will be held at the GVCO Community Center and the fee is $215.

Coach Werdt Nothing But Net - Aug. 5th - 12th 8:30AM - 3:30PM

This Summer Basketball Camp is for Boys in grades 3-6 as of Fall 2024.

So you have been playing in a summer league and now it's time to take your game to another level. Coach Werdt and his staff will refine your shooting, defense, ball handling, court awareness and passing to make you a better and more complete player.

Uptown Academy Travel Team Camp -

Aug. 12th - 16th 8:30AM - 3:30PM

This Summer Basketball Camp is for Boys in grades 5-8 as of Fall 2024.

This camp is for individual travel team players. It is open to the more experienced or skilled players with prior experience on a travel/tournament basketball team or program.

Uptown AAU

Uptown AAU boys basketball held tryouts in late February-early March and have begun their spring AAU season. Coach Shawn Werdt and Uptown's coaching staff will have 4 high school aged teams competing throughout the college viewing season this spring/summer. There is a national 17U, national 16U, a national 15U and one regional 15U squads. The national teams will play an east coast schedule, while the regional team will play closer to home.

Uptown's home practice facility is our own GVCO Community Center. Uptown has a talented and experienced coaching staff and is looking to make an impact in the AAU circuit immediately. As the program moves forward they willl be looking to expand, with plans for national teams next year at the 14U and 13U levels.

About Shawn Werdt

With over 15 years of coaching experience at both the High School and NCAA levels, Shawn is committed to helping athletes reach their highest potential. In addition to being a proven High School Head Coach, Shawn also served as an assistant coach at Philadelphia University for five seasons, under the legendary Herb Magee.

Mens Basketball

The Mens League begins Monday, April 22nd at GVCO.

5v5 Ref League,
