GVBL Double Elimination Playoffs

The first round of playoffs showcased intense matchups and spirited competition as teams fought to advance. Players showed their skills, teamwork, and determination that they have been building on all season. While we are all excited to see our winners move on, playoffs for gr. 3-8 are double elimination. Don't count anyone out yet.

On Saturday, February 17th, we will be transforming the GVCO facility into a basketball party zone, all day, for our girls and boys 1st/2nd grade teams.

It's a day long event with basketball, pizza, awards and a moon bounce. The GVBL leadership is putting together a schedule and planning a ton of fun for every team in the division. You are not going to want to miss this.

Support Our GVBL Seniors!

The GVBL Boys High School League will be holding an "All-Star" tournament to honor this year's crop of senior players. All registered senior players are invited to participate and it is tentatively scheduled for Wednesday night February 21st at 7:30 PM at the GVCO Community Center.

We have 39 seniors registered this winter so we'll allocate all players across 4 teams and then hold a round-robin tournament where each team plays three 20 minute games with a championship game to follow. It gives us a chance to recognize the senior class, many of which have been playing in GVBL since 1st grade. Each player will receive a special game jersey and there is no cost to participate. Thank you, Barrow Insurance, who is sponsoring the event.

The ladies of the Hive are powering through a tough, injury filled season. They are sitting in 6thplace in Division 1 of the ICBA, which represents the best of the best in school district-based basketball in the State and surrounding area - this slate typically includes the top 3 or 4 teams in the State every year, and this year is no exception. The Girls continue to work on fundamentals, while also beginning to learn some of the concepts run by the GV High School Girls’ Team.

This week features a Prime Time matchup against rival and #3 seed Springford at Great Valley Middle School this Friday night at 8:30pm. If you are free come on out and bring your popcorn, it should be a terrific matchup. The girls look to finish strong and head into the playoffs in hopes of earning a shot at the Division 1 ICBA championship!

Raise The Bar Bash

Dorothy Gill and her team of wonderful volunteers have taken the lead on planning our GVBL end of the season party this year! We want to recognize them and express how grateful we are for their time, ideas, and commitment to GVCO.

We hope all families in our entire basketball community will participate in our season ending fundraiser. We ask that someone on each team coordinate with all the families involved to buy something, donate something or donate cash for the basket.

Teams can assemble the basket or have GVBL assemble it. Baskets and donations can be dropped off now.

Financing Our Project

Financing the New GVCO Community Center

It's time for everyone in our Great Valley community to GIVE BACK. The community's support over the past six years has been tremendous [Donor List (12/31/23) ]. Let's finish what we started, paying off the debt and moving forward with the next phase of the project. To do this, the support must continue and be more broad based.

We are asking for help from the entire Great Valley private, public and business community.

Ways You can Give

THANK YOU TO OUR LOCAL CORPORATE & BUSINESS SPONSORS OF OUR 2023-2024 GVBL WINTER LEAGUE

Sponsor Shoutout

Once again, we have had tremendous local support for what we are trying to accomplish with our GVBL winter rec league. Without this assistance, there would be a financial shortfall for equipment, administration and facilities rental. GVBL would like to thank all those who have stepped up to support GVBL. In addition, as always please try and support these local businesses throughout the year, shopping and doing business right here at home.
