Skills Assessment Schedule
The GVBL 2019-2020 Winter Season officially kicked off last Monday with our Boys 1st & 2nd graders coming in for skills assessments.

Please be sure to check the Skills assessment schedule and attend at least one of the listed dates!

It is very important for every player in our winter league, new or returning, to attend a skills assessment session to help GVBL ensure fair & balanced teams.

Ivy Experience GVBL HS Division
GVCO is happy to announce that Ivy Experience is the GVBL High School League sponsor for the 2019-2020 Winter season!

The GVBL High School League is for boys in grades 9th-12th living in the GVSD. The season will begin with OPEN GYMS on December 2nd & 4th.

There are NO practices. We need parents to volunteer to coach, but there are no refereeing responsibilities in the high school division.

Junior Hoopsters
Junior Hoopsters is designed to introduce pre-K and kindergarten (4-6 year olds) girls and boys to the game of basketball. This program will teach the kids the basic fundamentals of the game through fun drills and games.

Winter Season 1: 12/2/2019-1/21/2020
Winter Season 2: 1/27/2020-3/2/2020
Sessions:
  • Monday afternoons 1:00-2:15pm
  • Wednesday mornings 10:00-11:15am
  • Wednesday afternoons 1:00-2:15pm

5th Grade Boys - RAIDERS & KNIGHTS
T he 5th Grade Boys team has grown in size from a first year roster of 16, to a group of 31. The boys will be spilt into 3 rosters, participating in the ICBA and Malvern League. The team is wrapping up their Fall League at Competitive Edge Sports and is excited to play in the John Streeper Memorial Turkey Shoutout in November.

5th Grade Girls - STORM
T he Storm have been focusing on practice this past fall in preparation for the upcoming winter season. The team will have 15 players on the roster and participate in the ICBA league, as well as Malvern League. The season will be kicked off with a one-day tournament, the White Rose Shootout, on November 2nd in York, PA. The team will also compete in the John Streeper Memorial Tournament over Thanksgiving weekend. The coaches and players are excited to get back into action, challenge themselves and build on a successful 4th grade campaign .  

6th Grade Boys - 2026ers
This year the 2026ers will include 20 players consisting of 2 teams. The boys will be playing in the ICBA and Malvern Leagues. Their first tournament is the Fall Hoops Classic at Germantown Friends School on November 2 nd .

6th Grade Girls - LIGHTNING
The Lightning are getting ready to wrap up the fall Malvern league season and are looking forward to the winter season. This winter we will have 13 players, with two new players joining the team - Lucy Charlton and Riley Campbell. We are looking forward to competing in ICBA and Malvern League this winter, along with playing in our first tournament of the season over Thanksgiving - the Streeper Memorial Shoot-Out.
7th Grade Boys - PATRIOTS 2025
The Patriots 2025 are getting ready to wrap up their fall season in the CES league. The team competed in the CES Philly Fall Classic the weekend of 10/12. They made it to the championship game, putting up a strong fight against a tough opponent from Bux-Mont, before falling short on the scoreboard during the last minutes of the game. This winter the team will be playing in the ICBA and Malvern Leagues.
7th Grade Girls - TITANS
The Titans are looking forward to an exciting season. More to come!

8th Grade Boys - BLITZ
T he Blitz (8th grade boys) head into their final year of GVBL Tournament Team play having played in well over 300 games since they were formed 4 years ago. As in past years, the calendar is year-round. The boys are playing in the Competitive Edge fall league and currently sit in 1st place in their division with a 5-1 record. They survived an exciting game Sunday vs. the previously undefeated East Coast Power squad, with Shawn Zebrowski hitting a key 3-pointer from the corner with less than a minute to go to help the Blitz claim first place heading into the last month of the season.
