Matt's Courtside Report
After another week of great basketball, we would like to talk about some of the amazing moments from this weeks game play. Monday started off HOT with a 76ers versus Cavaliers matchup that was brought all the way to the last second. This will be a rematch to watch out for as both teams have shown why they deserve to be at the top of their division.
Unfortunately, the rain got the best of us this week causing cancellations all across the league, but that did not slow down the games at the Phelps School. On Wednesday the Hoyas took on the Bulls in another great matchup. When asked who some of the best ball handlers of all time are names like Allen Iverson, Magic Johnson and Steph Curry usually come to mind, but for me I think of Julian Dorazio. This kid can fly up and down the court and has an unbelievable handle on the ball being able to hit some of the most impressive crossovers I have ever seen.
We also got to see some great matchups in the girls 5th and 6th grade division where any team has a shot at winning it all this year. Emerson Lowry from the Storm had a great game. Emerson plays lockdown defense, but also is an absolute sharpshooter swishing almost every shot she took.
Speaking of great shooters, it would be wrong of me not to talk about Duke Daddona. Duke not only has a great midrange, but navigates through traffic and finishes at the rim while making it look like nothing. Scoring is not the only thing Duke can do as he dispersed the ball to all his teammates finding the open man helping the team get the best possible looks at shots all night.
