Summer GVBL

Registration for Summer Basketball is open!

There is no residency requirement for gr. 1-8 for Summer basketball.

All players in the Boys HS league must be residents of GVSD.

Divisions are single-sex and based on the player's grade as of Fall 2023.
The summer league generally runs from mid-June through the first week of August.
Each team will play one or two games per week during the 10 week season.
There will be no practices.

Refs and Coaches

Referees Needed!

Students in grades 8th-12th as of Fall 2023 can sign up on the GVBL Student Referee Interest form.

We are looking for adults to referee alongside and mentor student referees. Participate as much as you would like through a weekly online referee sign-up form. Adults interested in reffing should sign up an Adult Referee Interest Form.

Internship Programs

High School Interns

Fall 2023 - Spring 2024

Application deadline is May 31st

GVCO is looking for several high school juniors or seniors to assist with programming and administrative responsibilities during the 23-24 school year. Hours would be 2 to 5 hours per week between 3pm-5pm Mondays through Fridays.

GVCO will work with you to create flexible scheduling around academic and extracurricular responsibilities. Compensation is $10 per hour. If interested, please complete the GVCO Internship Form by 5/31.Hiring decisions will be made June 15th.

Caring Hands

Sen. Comitta Event

April 29th

High school volunteers are needed to help carry boxes and papers over to the shredding area. Senator Carolyn Comitta's Shredding Event will be held at the Malvern Fire Station on King St.

Green Meadows Rehab May 6th-7th

Decorate pots and plant flowers in them for Green Meadows patients. Create cards of encouragement too

SPCA Walk 4 Paws

Drop off baked goods at the GVCO Community Center entrance during the days of April 27th-28th.

Man the tent or assist at the SPCA Walk for Paws event at West Goshen Park, 1023 Fern Hill Rd, West Chester on April 29th.

The French and Pickering Creeks Conservation Trust will be hosting its 21st Annual Iron Tour bicycle rally. Many volunteers are needed on different days.

When signing up, please include GVCO with your name.

For the past several years, GVCO Caring Hands has supported the many individuals staying at the Green Meadows Rehabilitation and Nursing Center located next to the Paoli Hospital. It is a wonderful cause that brings lots of smiles when the flowers are delivered.

Look for more information in the coming weeks about our May 2023 Food Drive to benefit Malvern's food bank, the People's Pantry at Church Road.

Volunteers will be needed to collect and organize donations.

Caring Hands

Is a student-led volunteer group that supports the community through various activities. Students in grades 7-12 and their parents can sign up for the Constant Contact Caring Hands News distribution list for the 2022-23 school year. GV Youth Cheer

With the basketball season ending, GV Cheer is back at it! These young athletes are staying engaged by attending weekly sessions of Cheerfit every Tuesday through the end of May!

Keep an eye out for K-6 Fall Cheer registration which will open in May. More details coming!

Project Update

The pre-engineered steel building has been delivered to the new GVCO Community Center site, been organized and is ready to be assembled. The foundation was completed at the very tail end of March and has been being tested by a lab periodically over the last couple of weeks as it "cures", allowing it to reach the approval to begin erecting the heavy steel onto the foundation. Once the general contractor receives the approval from the township to move forward, the community should see Phase I the facility begin to "come out of the ground".
