GVBL WINTER 2020-21 REC LEAGUE
Welcome to the 2020-2021 season of GVBL Basketball!

Welcome back to those that have participated in the past... and a heartfelt welcome to those new to our program. We are grateful to The Phelps School who has agreed to allow us to use their facilities for this season. We are their guests and we ask that everyone keeps this in mind when we are on their campus.

This year will be different in some ways to the way we have run our league for 20 years; but in most ways, it will remain the same. Differences include the loss of our beloved GVBL Center, games and practice times being more varied than previous years, spectator attendance limits, and the makeup of our schedule. What hasn't changed are our philosophies which include community involvement, friendships, sportsmanship and equality to name a few.

In addition we would like to remind everyone to be very cognizant of the number of protocols GVBL/GVCO has put into place to maintain as safe and healthy an experience as possible this GVBL season. As parents please make the proper choices for all those involved with GVBL in the coming weeks and months.

While we are living in unprecedented times, we are excited to be offering our basketball league this winter. We ask that you assist us in ensuring that everyone has a fun and safe experience this season.

Please continually refer to basketball section of the www.gvco.org/basketball website for information with regard to GVBL. A league schedule will be released no later than November 1st.

GVBL will coordinate uniform distribution with the coach(es) of your team and they will distribute accordingly.

GVBL plans to play the entire 2020-2021 season within the guidance dictated by both state and local authorities. Please click here for our GVBL refund policy.

We look forward to another very successful GVBL season...Enjoy and have fun!

GV Flag Football
The weather took a sharp turn colder this weekend but the GV K-1 Flag teams showed their toughness in two good games Saturday morning. Just a reminder, Friday night was the last practice but we still have more games, see K-1 Flag Schedule.

Sunday's weather added a bit of rain to the cold. For GV HS Co-Ed Flag: Deep Threat took on the Prospects and won 78-54, while the understaffed Get Odelled team feared the weather and The Woo won by forfeit.

GV Cheer
FLAG CHEERLEADING

This weekend the Kindergarten and 1st grade cheerleaders continued to welcome new athletes to the cheer squad to learn more cheers and have fun cheering for the flag football teams. They performed their usual halftime cheers, even though the weather was super cold! They just love their Coach Livy and Coach Alicia and everything they do for them!

CHEER CLINICS

This week in addition to learning cheers during clinics, the cheerleaders worked on their conditioning, their favorite planks, and broke into lines for bear crawls, hand stands and other jumps. Coach Abby, Coach Lexi and Coach Izzy worked with individual groups to sharpen their skills in a more focused, one on one level.
