The Great Valley Heat continued their Malvern League season this past Sunday with a win over the Huskers. The team is really starting to do a great job with overall ball movement and motion on offense. On the defensive side of the ball, the Heat are playing with great effort and beginning to learn how to turn 'good defense into good offense.' In the latest game against the huskers, Luke Kline and Luke Diamond set the offensive pace and spacing from the point guard position, while Matt Cappelli and Zach Charlier had great games scoring the ball as well. On the defensive side of the ball, Ambrose Casper and Evan Ferguson played spirited defense throughout the game. The Heat are back in action this Sunday, January 22nd.

Next up: an ICBA battle to maintain second place at Mara on January 22 and a Malvern League game on January 22!

The Knights are off to a great start with a 3-0 record in the ICBA. Their most recent home game against Spring-Ford included great defensive performances from Brendan Brook and Cooper Callahan with Gunner Benedix's 18 points and Jake Matty's 25 points leading their offense.
The Raiders lost a very good game to Chestnut Hill at home behind 14 points from Everett Graeff (including a half-time buzzer beater 3) and another 12 points by Matt Banister.

The 5th grade girls tournament team is off to a fast start in their first season in the ICBA league. The team then beat neighboring Paoli 20 - 8 led by the rebounding of Charlie deVries (12 rebounds) and the scoring of Julia Wirt (10 points). On Saturday, the Lightning’s team effort brought them a 23-14 win in a much anticipated game against Phoenixville. Sydney Sherrock, Chloe Robinson, and Addy Lake led a smothering defense and Vivienne Edginton and Lilly Nyce scored big baskets in the second half to seal the victory. WHERE WE PLAY BASKETBALL
The biggest challenge for GVBL is finding and scheduling the gym space for the 80+ teams during the winter season. There just isn't enough available court space within our district. GVCO is working towards a solution - the new GVCO Community Center project on Bacton Hill Rd.
In the meantime, we are renting the court space from some of our "community partners". Please remember to treat all of these facilities with respect while visiting for practices and games. The Phelps School, Grand Slam and the GVSD have been nice enough to allow us to use their buildings, so please treat this usage properly as we cannot afford to lose our privileges at any of these facilities

Spring Crew
Registration is open for Spring Crew for students in grades 8-12.
Great Valley Crew will be rowing out of the John S. Trinsey Jr. Memorial Boathouse in Bridgeport. Students must provide their own transportation. Practices are Monday, Wednesday, Friday from 3:45-6:15PM and on Saturdays at Trinsey from 10AM-1PM.
PLEASE NOTE: This is a competitive rowing team and we need your full commitment to all practices and regattas. We need the whole team at every practice to ensure we can get on the water ever day the weather conditions allow. One rower missing practice means an entire boat must stay on-land.
