JULY SUMMER CLINICS

The cheer clinics is for all athletes (Grades K-6) to get ready for the the GVCO cheer program. It’s also a great way to get outside this summer to join other cheerleaders and have fun!

Thank you to all the parents and athletes who made our first summer cheer clinic season a success. Looking forward to the cheer season to begin the week of August 16^th!

Flag cheer (K-1st) will practice on Thursday nights from 6-7pm and GV cheer will practice on Tuesday and Thursday nights from 6-7:30pm. For more information, please contact cheer@gvco.org.

Fall Programs

Cheer for Grades K-1

Flag football cheerleading will be for athletes in K and 1^st grade to get introduced to the GVCO cheerleading program GVCO. Athletes will learn cheers, dance and jumps and cheer during the flag football games and perform at half time. They will also do other voluntary community events to perform to the community, and specifics will be communicated as they are scheduled.

Each week, there will be a one hour practice at a location within the Great Valley School District. These practices are closed to parents, but the coaches will upload videos to the Facebooks and Instagram pages. The season starts in early August and goes until the last flag football game of the season. Games are typically held on Sunday mornings.

Practices begin in early August.

Cheer for Grades 2-6

The Junior Patriots Cheer Program combines sideline cheer for football and basketball with competitive cheer where the athletes will compete in competitions in the local area. The athletes will spend time on the fundamentals of stunting, learn a competition routine, condition, work on tumbling and learn cheers for football and basketball. They will also do other voluntary community events to perform to the community, and specifics will be communicated as they are scheduled. Practices begin in early August.

Summer GVBL

Playoffs have begun!

The action began this past Thursday for Boys 7th/8th. Come Wednesday, the Thunder, Rockets, Spurs and Blazers will compete for spots in their Thursday championship game.

The Celtics and Heat won their Boys 5th/6th games and will face each other on Wednesday. The Bucks, Cavs, Knicks and Sixers will bring their A games to the KDM court on Tuesday.

Playoffs for the Girls 3rd/4th, 5th/6th and the HS Boys start Monday at 6PM. There is still plenty of basketball to come.

Fall Flag Football

Season lasts 9/24 - 1st week of Nov.

1 hour practice on a weeknight

1 hour game on Saturday mornings

We keep the team rosters small and play 5 v 5 so all the kids get a chance to participate. Each player will have a chance to be QB and have the opportunity to be the running back who runs for a touchdown at every game!

ll games will be played at the new GVCO Community Center complex, 51 N Bacton Hill Rd., Malvern .

2021 COED HIGH SCHOOL FLAG FOOTBALL

Highlights:

· Games are played Sundays around midday

· Season is late September to early November

· Minimum of 10 players per team

· Games are played 5v5. Two girls per team must be on the field at all times

· 6 game season plus playoffs

· GVCO will provide 2 referees and a scorekeeper for every game

· Players will receive team jerseys

· All games played at the new GVCO Community Center complex on Bacton Hill Rd., Malvern

Each Team Captain must register a team.

Team registration deadline is September 10th.

Rowers must be area High and Middle School Students in grades 8-12 for Fall 2021.

Great Valley Crew will be rowing out of the John S. Trinsey Jr. Memorial Boathouse in Bridgeport. There is a Voluntary Parent-led carpool for those that want to participate.

Practices begin August 16th. Practices are Monday-Wednesday-Friday at 3:45-6:15PM and Saturdays at Trinsey from 10AM to 1PM.

Additionally, we expect to repeat events like decorating the food boxes for CCFB and the holiday gift sale as well as adding several new community service opportunities.

GVCO Project Update

Stormwater Work

With the offsite stormwater piping nearly complete the future site of the GVCO Community Center on Bacton Hill Rd should begin to transform. The stormwater pipe had to be installed first but the building pad will start to take shape in the coming week.
