Great Valley Cheer News
Start of the Cheerfitness Clinics

GV Cheer athletes are now a few weeks into their cheerfitness and choreography clinics. The cheerfitness clinics are fun and high-energy workout sessions to help cheerleaders increase their endurance through the sweat section and will focus on strengthening the muscles in the body used for stunting and jumps in the strength section. Half of each session is a workout class format and the other half is learning choreography to music that includes exercises and dances. This is all with the added fun of working out with poms!!

Fitness Class portion

The athletes are separated into the K-2nd graders and 3rd- 6th graders to ensure that they are getting the most out of their workouts. These fitness class sessions are instructed by Coach Stef.
Exercise Choreography

Coach Lexi and Coach Milan teach choreography to a new song each week, which includes two exercises and a dance within each song. This is a fun way for the athletes to workout. Our GV Cheerleaders love routines to songs!
Spirit Stick

Each week we identify an athlete who has a great attitude and works really hard during the clinics to be given the spirit stick. Week 1 was given to Harper Mundy and week 2 was given to Sofia Bernardy. Great job!
Special thank you to Stacey Hodgson for taking all the pictures at our clinics!
Summer Conditioning and Choreography Clinics.

The summer conditioning choreography clinics will be for athletes who are interested in training and enhancing their strength in anticipation of the fall sports season. These clinics are not inclusive of only cheerleaders, but for all boys and girls who want to get back outside and work out with other athletes. There will be a focus on exercises and drills for strengthening muscles used for cheer, but also benefits all athletes.

The clinics will be held on Thursday evenings and Sunday early afternoons in June and July 2022. The location will be within Great Valley School District.

Their goal is to see the inhabitants of these homes rise above their level of poverty and experience a rich measure of hope, joy and dignity through being cared for and knowing that their circumstances matter to their community.
Flower Delivery to Green Meadows
During the first two weekends in April, volunteers from our Caring Hands program decorated pots and planted flowers for the residents of Green Meadows Rehabilitation and Nursing Center. The residents were delighted to receive them and definitely gained some "spring cheer!" Our volunteers also decorated senior food boxes for the Chester County Food Bank and collected gently used books for the Chester County Library. Many thanks to everyone who volunteered and a big thanks to Uhler's Seed and Feed for donating the flowers!
