Fostering Growth and Connection | |

Staying Abreast of the Changes
Winston Churchill once wrote; “To improve is to change; to be perfect is to change often.”
Change is often hard for many of us. We get comfortable in the way things are, we develop routines that enable us to navigate and plan based on our familiarities. However, change is necessary in order to experience growth and provide experiences that turn into our best memories, help us, and enable us to achieve our goals and dreams.
The GVHS has been hard at work to provide members with changes that will enhance their experierence and connection with the GVHS, their horses, and their fellow members.
For change to work well, it requires a level of excitement and participation within the community. We hope our members get excited about the new things that are happening and take full advantage of these changes to enhance your experiences with the GVHS. We understand change isn't always easy, but we are here to help you navigate the change, strive for success, and make a difference!
These new changes include:
- The 2023 Board of Directors and Officers Election
- The new GVHS Customer Portal
- The new website for The Vanner Magazine
- The Vanner Banner moving weekly and offering opportunity for advertising
Each of these changes offers new opportunities for participation, ease of use, and fosters a sense of connectedness and growth. Don't sit on the sidelines.
Come share the dream with us!

GVHS Customer Portal
Be Sure to Create New Login Account Before Logging In
The GVHS has launched a new member portal system that allows you to access
information in one place, help manage your information, and replace how you access the online registry, registry forms, and the members-only page. Guests/non-members will also be able to set up an account to do business with the GVHS.
To access the NEW GVHS online portal, the online registry, and manage your information, you must set up a new account the first time you access it. Your old login information will no longer work. This system will eventually phase out the old one, so please be sure to do this as soon as possible.
-
You will need to create a new login for your new system account. This means only one login and password!
-
Be sure that the email for your new login is the same as what the GVHS has on file with your membership. That is what ties you to your customer and membership records.
- The new system will allow you to update your personal information.
- You will be able to see all the horses and manage the horses that you own.
-
In your account, you will currently have access to the forms you are used to using. The second phase of this project will be the ability to directly enter many of the existing form information, and those will go automatically to the association database for processing.

Content Guidelines:
All advertisements must honor and respect the Gypsy Vanner Horse Society and the Gypsy Vanner Horse. Within the publication, GVHS registered horses will be referred to as Gypsy Vanner Horse, Gypsy Vanner, Vanner Horse, or simply Vanners. Where the farm name or logo refers generically to gypsies, gypsy horses or gypsy cobs, we ask that advertisements also include prominent reference to the farm’s support of the GVHS and/or dedication to the Gypsy Vanner Horse breed.
All horses named/featured in advertisements must be GVHS Registered. Advertisements must not contain information regarding other gypsy horse associations/ registries. The GVHS reserves the right to reject or to edit submissions to support these guidelines.
Please submit all Vanner Banner Advertisements in JPEG format.
Your advertisement should feature a photo or logo, and a simple call to action, with one to two lines of copy describing your offering. URL links to your site should accompany all Vanner Banner advertisements. Submit your advertisements to Heidi Schlenker at stallionflyers@gmail.com by the weekly deadlines, or upload them to the dedicated upload link on the website once the new website for The Vanner magazine is up and running.
Weekly Submission Deadlines for The Vanner Banner Advertising
Advertising in The Vanner Banner will be available upon a weekly basis, for weeks 1-3. Advertising spots will not be available during week 4 due to the content-heavy nature of that week’s newletter.

GVHS Evaluations - SIGN UP TODAY!!!
January 10, 2024 – Jacksonville, FL -prior to the FHC show
| |
The Gypsy Vanner Horse Evaluation Program has been developed as an educational tool for the horse breeder, to promote thoughtful breeding of Gypsy Vanner Horses of the type as detailed in the breed standard, and for the public to educate them about the breed.
The program’s purpose is to help breeders and owners to educate themselves about the strengths and weaknesses of their horses so they can use this knowledge in making educated breeding and purchasing decisions.
This system should be viewed as an important tool to help preserve the wonderful characteristics of the Gypsy Vanner Horse.
The conformation-movement evaluation is also an integral part of the GVHS Registration process. Horses lacking DNA verification of both sire and dam require a certain minimum conformation-movement evaluation score to move from the GVHS Pre-Studbook into the Regular Studbook.
