Congratulations Director Lara Brown on your promotion to Professor of Political Management in the College of Professional Studies, beginning July 1. Dr. Brown, a prominent political scientist, author and commentator, currently serves as an associate professor and director of the Graduate School of Political Management.

Campus Mural to Honor First Black Alumna’s Legacy 

Two recent GW alumni are leading an initiative to create a mural commemorating Leah Brock McCartney, the first Black woman believed to have graduated from GW and a pioneering judge in Missouri.

Mitchell Silver, Commissioner of the New York City Department of Parks shared his reflections on how as an urban planner and parks commissioner, he implemented planning and designing for equity and what lessons planners and designers can learn to do the same. A special event organized as part of the Sustainable Urban Planning 10 year Anniversary Symposium Series.

GSPM Alumni Well Represented in the New Biden Administration

The Graduate School of Political Management (GSPM) is dedicated to training the next generation of political advocates and communications professionals, so it comes as no surprise that half a dozen GSPM alumni are included in President Biden’s administration. The newest addition is Carlos Del Toro '96, Nominee for Secretary of the Navy, announced June 11.

CEPL's Coaching Program Receives Coveted Accreditation

The e-Co Leadership Coaching Certification has received the designation as an International Coaching Federation Accredited Coach Training Program (ICF ACTP). Offered by CPS’s Center for Excellence in Public Leadership (CEPL), the Certification program offers a new vision for leadership and coaching in the world.
