In-Person Commencement Celebration Returns

This year’s school celebration was the first time it was held in-person since the traditional celebration was interrupted by the COVID-19 pandemic. The graduates, with masks, looked different than last time, but the core aspects of the celebration remained the same with inspirational speakers, special awards and the presentation of graduates.
Career Insights: Giuliana Macaluso, MPS '22 in Publishing
Ms. Giuliana Macaluso is an outstanding 2022 graduate of the MPS in Publishing program and recipient of the 2022 CPS Graduate Distinguished Scholar Award. In this Alumni Profile, she shares insights about the impact of the program on her career.

Twin Brothers Receive Master's Degrees from CPS
Twin brothers Lavontay and Lorenzo Santos have always been close — they were born only 60 seconds apart — so it was no surprise when they went together from their family home in King George, Virginia, to the U.S. Naval Academy. Nor was it a surprise to see them both marching in GW’s Commencement ceremony which was held on Sunday, May 15 on the National Mall.

Zineb Kadhi, BPS ’22 in Information Technology
As a member of the Class of 2022, Ms. Zineb Kadhi, BPS ’22, is one of CPS’s newest alumni. The university recognized her hard work and dedication by selecting her as a “Distinguished Scholar” for accomplishments inside and outside of the classroom. A double award winner, she is also the CPS Undergraduate Distinguished Scholar.

SUP Student Selected for Urban Land Institute Program

Ms. Elizabeth Rose, a second-year student pursuing a master’s degree in sustainable urban planning, has been selected for the prestigious Urban Land Institute's Randall Lewis Health Mentorship Program.

20th Annual Cafritz Award Winners Announced
The Morris & Gwendolyn Cafritz Foundation, in partnership with The George Washington University’s Center for Excellence in Public Leadership and the District of Columbia Government, is proud to recognize the extraordinary winners of the 20th Annual Cafritz Awards Program.

Winners will be recognized at the joint 19th and 20th Annual Cafritz Awards Gala on June 30.
