In celebration of Constitution Day, the Graduate School of Political Management (GSPM) organized “Reinvigorating Democracy,” an event consisting of scholar and practitioner panels on the constitutional origins and modern evolutions of U.S. democracy.

Leadership Development Programs Celebrate Graduates and Alumni Success Stories

GW’s Center for Excellence in Public Leadership (CEPL) has designed and conducted leadership development programs for over 148 leaders in the U.S. Department of Agriculture (USDA). Since the partnership began in 2010, a significant number of these graduates have been promoted into more senior positions.

GW Academic Leadership Academy
Congratulations to Ms. Tierney Pitzer for being selected to participate in the third cohort of the GW Academic Leadership Academy (GWALA).

Ms. Pitzer, the program director for the Information Technology bachelor's degree completion program, will participate in the year-long leadership program. 

New Advisory Board Forms for Cybersecurity Strategy Program

The newly formed Cybersecurity Strategy and Information Management Program (CSIM) Advisory Board met for the first time in August 2022. The Board identified opportunities for future growth and discussed current and emerging cybersecurity challenges, gaps in the cybersecurity workforce and the rapid expansion of disruptive technologies.

The CSIM Advisory Board members are senior-level professionals who have extensive leadership experience with cybersecurity, technology management and national security.

Distinguished D.C. Government Employees Recognized at Cafritz Awards Gala
The GW Center for Excellence in Public Leadership (CEPL) hosted the 19th and 20th Annual Morris and Gwendolyn Cafritz Awards Gala this summer at the University Student Center to honor outstanding D.C. government leaders and innovative teams.

Sustainable Urban Planning Student Organization Hosts Park[ing] Day
The GW Sustainable Urban Planning Student Organization (SUPSO) hosted the 2022 Annual Park[ing] Day on September 16. Park[ing] Day is an annual movement to transform parking temporarily into a place for people.
