November 2025 Edition

A Message from the Executive Director

Antoine M. Thompson

CEO/Executive Director

GWRCCC

Wow! The 4th Annual GWRCCC Clean Energy & Transportation Conference, held on October 23, 2025, at Martin’s Crosswinds, Greenbelt, Maryland was a huge success. More than 300 people attended the conference, luncheon, expo and Green Leaders on the Move Reception. Congratulations to all of the awardees and the 10 winners of the GWRCCC Ron Flowers Scholarship. Thank you to all of our sponsors, donors, board members, volunteers, staff, consultants, and interns. Together, let’s move onward to a cleaner future for all.

GWRCCC Giving Tuesday & Holiday Party

Register Today for the GWRCCC Giving Tuesday Event & Holiday Party on Tuesday, December 2, 2025, from 6pm to 8pm at 899 North Capitol Street, NE, Washington, DC. Contact Jade Bynum or me about donating food or sponsorship opportunities. This event is an annual fundraiser for GWRCCC.

Advocacy Updates

Next year is going to be very important in terms of advocating for policies that support the environment, clean energy and transportation. Reducing air pollution and its negative impact on the health of local residents will continue to be a priority of GWRCCC. In January, GWRCCC will host a webinar on legislative and public policy priorities. Additionally, GWRCCC will be on Capitol Hill with the Transportation Energy Partners and other Clean Cities Coalitions from across the county on February 10-11, 2026. On a regional level, GWRCCC is advocating for a Low Carbon Fuel Standard in the State of Maryland that would be like a law in the State of California that would accelerate the transition to low to zero emission vehicles.

Sincerely,

Antoine M. Thompson

Congratulations to Antoine Thompson
