It's that time of the year again to start thinking about CDBG grants. Please let Greater Wabash Regional Planning Commission know if you have any possible grant ideas you and your community would like to start working on. CDBG grants can fund water, sewer and storm sewer infrastructure that will serve low to moderate income homes.
The Community Development Block Grant (CDBG) Program was established by the federal Housing and Community Development Act of 1974 (Act). Administered nationally by the U.S. Department of Housing and Urban Development (HUD), the Act combined eight existing categorical programs into a single block grant program. Through this program, funds are available to assist Illinois communities to meet their greatest economic and community development needs, within an emphasis upon helping persons of low-to-moderate income.
