Health Starts at Home

Last week, GaHIN joined Georgia’s Department of Community Affairs Housing Symposium to highlight a simple truth: housing is health.

GaHIN connects healthcare providers, social service organizations, and state agencies so they can see the full picture of an individual’s needs. When housing instability is visible, care teams can act earlier and coordinate support more effectively.

Through secure data exchange:

• Providers can factor housing into care decisions

• Referrals to housing and social services can be tracked

• Community organizations become part of the care team

• State leaders gain clearer insight into community needs

This is not about more data. It is about better connection.

When housing becomes part of the health conversation, care becomes stronger, safer, and more coordinated. Want to learn more? Contact us here.

AI Needs a Backbone. Georgia Has One.

At ViVE this week, Denise Hines shared a clear message about artificial intelligence in healthcare: AI only works when the foundation is strong.

The future of healthcare is not AI by itself. It is AI built on the right infrastructure.

From GaHIN’s perspective, that foundation includes:

• Interoperability that connects hospitals, labs, behavioral health, and community providers

• Whole person visibility so care teams see more than a single encounter

• Cross-sector collaboration between healthcare and social services

• Accountable data stewardship that protects patient trust

Georgia does not need more disconnected tools layered on top of fragmented systems. It needs intelligence layered on integration.

GaHIN provides the integration. AI provides the acceleration.

Together, they create smarter, safer, and more equitable care for communities across the state.

GaHIN Strengthens Rural Care Across Georgia

GaHIN is the statewide connection point that helps rural communities deliver safer, more coordinated care.

In rural Georgia, healthcare is personal. Providers know their patients and understand their communities. But even strong relationships cannot replace shared visibility.

Patients often move between counties for primary care, behavioral health, specialty visits, or hospital services. Without connected information, critical details can remain siloed.

GaHIN ensures that information follows the patient.

Through secure statewide exchange, GaHIN connects hospitals, rural clinics, laboratories, behavioral health providers, and community organizations so care teams can see the full picture.

Rural Georgia already has trust. GaHIN strengthens it with connection.

When information moves seamlessly, care becomes safer, coordination becomes easier, and rural communities are better supported.
