Coral Gables Senior High establishes "CAP Capsule" with generous donation from BJ's Wholesale Club
The "CAP Capsule" is open for business!

The Coral Gables Community Foundation coordinated an important donation from
BJ's Wholesale Club benefiting the Coral Gables Senior High School College Assistance Program (CAP). BJ's Wholesale Club's Coral Way store graciously donated 80 chairs and 8 tables so that the  " CAP Capsule could be established at the school.

"As the CAP Advisor for 3,500 students, finally having a place to hold all my class meetings without displacing individual teachers is amazing. We have been conducting Senior College presentations since August 26th and the room is working out perfectly!," said Liz Stack, Gables High CAP Advisor. " The generosity of the Foundation and BJ's has catapulted the CAP program at Gables to the next level."

Stack was in need of chairs and tables for the school's new "CAP Capsule," which will serve as a home base for students to register for financial aid, complete college applications and financial aid forms, research universities and scholarships plus other college-related activities. Many students at Gables High do not have access to the internet at home and needed a place at school where they could utilize the program's available resources.

Through BJ's Wholesale Club's generous donation, Stack has been able to make the "CAP Capsule" a reality for the 2015-2016 school year.  Later in the year, the space will be used to register students for Florida Bright Futures scholarships and it will serve as a place where guests to the school can present to the students on many topics concerning college, such as essay writing and financial aid awareness.

"We love working closely with our local schools and especially helping students get into college. We are grateful to BJ's Wholesale Club, who jumped at the opportunity to get involved!" said Mary Snow, Executive Director of the Coral Gables Community Foundation.
