HOUSTON – Gail Stanart, longtime conservative, grassroots activist, has announced her candidacy for State Representative in House District 126.
Stanart’s platform will include:
-Advancing property tax reform to decrease the burden on dis
trict families and homeowners;
-Fighting for pro-family legislation that supports traditional family values;
-Resolving district flooding problems with a focus on Cypress Creek;
-Unshackling businesses of a
ll sizes from heavy regulation and the tax burden, including elimination of the franchise tax;
-Seeking wiser solutions to our public education system to help all our students realize a successful future.
“This race is about policies that will strengthen families, schools and businesses in this district. Obviously, with the damaging effects of Hurricane Harvey, flood management must be addressed quickly,” said Stanart.
Stanart will utilize her experience in the corporate world, her career as an entrepreneur, and her long history of community engagement. She is committed to a hard-charging, grassroots, conservative campaign that will outwork and outpace her opponents.
“There will be people who will spend more money than me in t
his race, but there will be no one who outworks me,” she said. “It will be a spirited campaign of ideas and hard work.
The person who represents this district matters because the constituents matter.
I will be an accessible, approachable leader; my door will be open to everyone.”
Stanart is proud to launch her campaign with the following endorsements:

“This early support humbles me. I am so blessed to live in District 126. I promise to seek innovative solutions to the challenges we are experiencing as well as those we will face in the future. I look forward to hearing from the voters in this district as I visit neighborhoods. I am eager to use this opportunity to give back to the community which I have called home for almost 30 years,” Stanart said.
Gail Stanart has worked for decades in her church, and for conservative causes and Republican principles. Gail has served the Harris County Republican Party as Precinct Chair of Precinct 451 and is currently serving as Republican Party of Texas’ State Republican Executive Committeewoman for Senate District 15. She has been a delegate to every Senatorial District Convention and every Republican Party State Convention since 2004 and attended the 2008 and 2016 Republican National Conventions as an Alternate Delegate.
A native Texan, Gail’s Texas roots run deep. She spent her early childhood years living in the Humble Oil Spindletop camp. Gail has lived in House District 126 for 29 years and has launched successful businesses in insurance and Mary Kay Cosmetics here. Gail’s career covers many industries, including managing the Shell Development Construction Office during their Highway 6 construction, drawing plans for a home improvement company’s 50,000 SF headquarters in San Antonio, and managing a law firm office. Gail and her husband, Stan Stanart -- the Harris County Clerk -- have been married for 14 years and are active members of Champion Forest Baptist Church, where Gail has served for over 28 years. The Stanarts take pride and joy in their three grandchildren at every opportunity.
