Special Announcement regarding the GCSSA Salary Survey ...

Gain access to valuable insights into compensation trends; participate in the 2024 GCSSA Salary Survey

The 2024 edition of our GCSSA Annual Salary Survey will be launching soon! All GCSSA members will receive an EMAIL with the official announcement and detailed instructions. The deadline to complete this year’s salary survey is November 22. While participation is free, please note that you will only gain access to the survey results if your district completes the survey as well.

Superintendents participating in this robust salary survey gain access to valuable insights into compensation trends across the region, empowering them with critical data to make informed decisions about salary structures. This exclusive resource, available through membership in the Greater Cleveland School Superintendents' Association, helps promote equity and competitiveness in district leadership compensation.

A major change this year: Frontline, our sponsor, has informed us that we will no longer be able to add districts after the November 22 deadline. Unlike in past years, this means only districts that participate by completing the survey on time will have access to the final results.

Employment Trends for Superintendents/GCSSA Salary Study Results Analysis on January 21, 2025

Mark your calendars! A deep dive into the survey results will be shared during a special luncheon on January 21. Members can attend in person (ESC of NEO), or via ZOOM. This will be a great opportunity to review the findings in detail and discuss the implications for your district. Don't miss out on this valuable tool!

Special thank you to our Salary Survey partner and luncheon event sponsor, Frontline Education.

Empowering Ohio's Future: Stephen Dackin Leads Visionary Discussion on Career Tech and Workforce Readiness during GCSSA In-Service Session

On September 17, over 100 attendees gathered at the ESC of Northeast Ohio for an informative discussion on Ohio’s Vision of the Continuum of Learning from Pre-K through Adults and the Workforce. Stephen Dackin, Director of the Ohio Department of Education and Workforce, led the event, drawing from his more than 40 years of experience in education policy, instructional leadership, and workforce readiness. Dackin, appointed by Governor Mike DeWine, emphasized the critical role of career and technical education (CTE) in preparing Ohio’s students for the evolving workforce.

His focus on expanding CTE programs highlights Ohio’s commitment to bridging the gap between education and industry demands. By integrating career tech into high school curricula, Ohio aims to equip students with the skills and certifications needed for in-demand jobs across the state. Director Dackin underscored that "career readiness is essential from an early age," stressing that collaboration between Pre-K programs, K-12 schools, and higher education institutions is vital to creating a seamless transition from classroom to career. His leadership continues to advocate for stronger pathways between education and the workforce, ensuring that Ohio students are well-prepared for the careers of tomorrow.

The free event offered GCSSA members a valuable opportunity to engage in dialogue about these programs and explore Ohio’s new, comprehensive approach to workforce development, from early education through adult learning.
