During the December Board meeting, we conducted numerous property tax appeals hearings; approved the Assessors’ Handbooks for sections 531, 534 and 581; and heard a data driven presentation reviewing 100 California multi-family housing bond financings.
We also received operational updates from the Executive Director, Taxpayers’ Rights Advocate Office, Property Tax Department Deputy Director, and Legislative, Research & Statistics Division Chief.
Finally, we discussed various Board Member matters and initiatives, including continued discussion on the proposed 2024 Board Meeting Workload Plan, possible governance policy updates and action, and received a 2023 year-end review and highlights.
We are proud as a Board to meet our constitutional duties and remain committed to our mission to serve Californians through fair, effective, and efficient tax administration in support of state and local governments.
