8th Annual Gala Raises $60,000!

The Friends of Chabot College (FCC) held its 8th Annual Gala on Thursday, October 6th, 2022 at TPC Stonebrae. It was a sold-out event with over 110 district, college, business, and community leaders in attendance. Many thanks to all those who attended, donated auction items, made contributions, or lent words of support. Every little bit helps! Preliminary estimates show we raised almost $60,000. This includes $8,675 for emergency aid during the fund-a-need live auction!

In addition, we honored leaders who have made sustaining contributions to Chabot College and the community:

  • Mr. Rob Stoker - Sheet Metal Workers’ Local 104 and the Alameda County Building & Construction Trades Council
  • Ms. Irma Torres-Fitzsimons - Principal of Burbank Elementary School
  • Ms. Shweta Joshi, HMC Architects and Ms. Adrienne Luce, the HMC Designing Futures Foundation

Deepest thanks go to:

  • Fundraising chair: Obray Van Buren, Friends of Chabot College Board
  • Centerpiece design and assembly: Vanessa Morales, Chabot College Office of Student Life
  • Donated photography services: Michael Craig
  • Graphic design and printing: Craig Shira and Sarah Flores, Chabot College Reprographics
  • Planning committee: Sarah Flores, Christine Herrera, Vanessa Morales, and Nicole Albrecht

We are already looking forward to next year!
