For I know the plans I have for you, plans to prosper you and not to harm you, plans for hope and a future.
-Jeremiah 29:11
Hello, Galloway Families! The Spring Semester is off to a wonderful start. Thank you for your hard work and diligence toward keeping our school a healthy, happy place of learning.

Throughout this first week of January, we have not had any close-contact with positive COVID-19 cases, in school. Our one posted, "active case" remains from the first few days of Winter Break, and is not new.

As you may have heard, there are a few cases within our Galloway Community that have not impacted our students. These include positive cases at the end of the break, cases last week where the teacher/student had not returned to school after the break, and other positive cases outside of the school or our students. In these situations, the individual with the positive result was not around students or other faculty during the infectious days preceding testing, while waiting for test results, or while recovering; or does not work or attend school at Galloway.

Through everyone's close adherence to school protocol, our COVID-19 numbers resulting in potential "close-contact" remain incredibly low. Thank you for your diligence, transparency, and flexibility. As a faculty, we, too, are erring on the side of caution, not convenience.

We frequently review our campus practices, looking for ways to improve our COVID-19 barriers. This week, for example, we are shifting our daily gym schedule to provide increased separation in Physical Education classes. We will also be shifting PE instruction outside, when weather permits. For this reason, please be sure to send a jacket or other warm layer for your child. Also, please be sure to write your child's name inside, near the top label.

In other news, we are excited with our fund-raising success, so far! If you haven't had a chance to send in your donation or donation plans, it's not too late. Let's make a strong push to our friends, family, and even neighbors, as we strive to Get Outside and Play (and learn, think, and grow!). Go Owls!

Finally, please watch for re-enrollment information in the coming week. We are excitedly beginning plans for an outstanding 2021-2022 school year, and hope to include your student. Early enrollment helps us retain and attract the best teachers and programs for your child and our school. Additionally, early enrollment ensures your child's spot in the classroom, instead of a wait-list.

Let's stay strong in our fight against COVID-19. Wear a mask to protect others and yourself, keep a safe distance from others, keep effectively washing hands, and quarantine from others who might be showing early symptoms. Our success is a testament to the outstanding Galloway Community Spirit and Teamwork! We've all given up so much "normalcy," but thankfully, we remain at school with face-to-face instruction. Thank you for your support and, even more-so, for your kindness.

Caring Deeply for Our School,

Dr. Doepken

Lord, we pray for Your continued protection of our school - within our hallways, classrooms, and families.
