New Pediatric Mobile Clinic Brings Enhanced Care to the Underserved
A new University of Miami mobile health clinic with advanced telehealth features is bringing enhanced primary care services to children and families in underserved Miami-Dade County communities. After a ribbon-cutting ceremony hosted by UHealth - the University of Miami Health System and the Miller School's Department of Pediatrics, the new mobile clinic rolled out on Tuesday, April 23, for a full day of appointments with young patients in Hialeah.

"By serving as a lifeline to underserved families, our new mobile clinic is a symbol of the Miller School's enduring partnership with our community and deep commitment to children's health," said Henri R. Ford, MD, MHA, Dean and Chief Academic Officer of the University of Miami Miller School of Medicine. "It also provides an invaluable hands-on learning experience for Miller School students in their pediatric rotations."

Judy Schaechter, MD, the George E. Batchelor Endowed Chair in Pediatrics, welcomed representatives of UHealth's partners, philanthropic donors and Rodney Howell, MD, Pediatric Chair Emeritus, to the April 22 mobile clinic unveiling ceremony at the Mailman Center for Child Development.
