Gastro Health Acquires 3 Physician Practices


Gastro Health, P.L. the largest medical group in South Florida specializing in gastroenterology, pediatric gastroenterology and colorectal surgery announced the acquisition of three private gastroenterology practices based in Miami-Dade County.


Gastro Health purchased the practice of Ronald Stauber, MD previously at 7400 N Kendall Dr, Miami, FL 33156; Andres Cowley, MD previously at 7500 SW 8th St, Suite 306, Miami, FL 33144; and Monroe Scheiner, MD previously at 9028 SW 152nd St, Palmetto Bay, FL 33157 as well as 45 NW 4th St, Homestead, FL 33030.


"Patients of Dr. Stauber, Dr. Cowley and Dr. Scheiner can seamlessly continue their treatment with Gastro Health's board certified gastroenterologists in the Miami and Kendall areas, and will receive outstanding medical care and an exceptional health care experience," said Alejandro Fernandez, Chief Executive Officer of Gastro Health. "All three practices have been operating for over 30 years and we are very pleased to announce these acquisitions."




Praise for Holy Cross 


U.S. News & World Report has recognized Holy Cross Hospital in Fort Lauderdale as one of the top three "Best Regional Hospitals" in South Florida and number seven in the state.


The non-profit hospital also achieved the top "high performing" category for all five rated categories of common care: hip replacement, knee replacement, heart bypass surgery, heart failure and COPD.

West Boca Medical Center Unveils Modernized Maternity Suites

Patients will now experience a spa-like atmosphere and an enhanced birthing experience at West Boca Medical Center. The hospital's newly renovated Birth Care Pavilion consists of a Labor and Delivery Unit, Post-Partum Unit, Newborn Nursery and a Level III Neonatal Intensive Care Unit.


"As one of the leading obstetric and maternity hospitals in the area, we are excited to complete the recent refurbishing of our Birth Care Pavilion," said Mitch Feldman, CEO of West Boca Medical Center. "Our birthing suites offer the same award-winning care as before, but now in a more private and comfortable atmosphere to help improve the overall labor and delivery experience."
