West Boca Medical Center headed south of the county line to build a freestanding emergency department in Coconut Creek.

The hospital, part of Tenet Healthcare Corp. (NYSE: THC), is building the 20,000-square-foot emergency center with 11 treatment rooms at 4890 State Road 7. It will treat serious injuries and, if patients need to be admitted to the hospital, transport them there by ambulance.
