Baptist Health Medical Group Welcomes Family Medicine Physician
Family medicine physician Rachel Vallejo, MD, has
Dr. Vallejo
joined Baptist Health Medical Group, a network of primary care doctors and specialists based in Miami.

Before attending medical school, Dr. Vallejo earned a Master of Public Health degree at Florida International University. She earned her medical degree at Ross University School of Medicine in Dominica, West Indies. Her post-doctoral training includes a residency in family medicine at Wyckoff Heights Medical Center/Weill Medical College of Cornell University, Brooklyn, N.Y. and a fellowship in geriatric medicine at Jackson Memorial Hospital, University of Miami School of Medicine. She is a member of the American Academy of Family Physicians and the American Geriatrics Society.

"We are pleased to welcome Dr. Vallejo to our Baptist Health Primary Care team," said Bernie Fernandez Jr., MD, CEO of Baptist Health Medical Group. "She brings extensive experience in successfully treating and improving the health outcomes of a diverse patient population."

Dr. Vallejo is affiliated with Homestead Hospital and will see patients at 975 Baptist Way, Suite 202 in Homestead.
Healthcare Veteran Announces New Consulting Firm
Margarita Khosh, the Immediate-Past President of the Women's Healthcare Executive Network South Florida, has just announced a new venture. After 20+ years of experience optimizing healthcare and managed care operations, building long-term relationships and securing tactful negotiations, she has opened up a consulting firm, MK Medical Solutions, LLC. Based in Fort Lauderdale the company will deliver credentialing, contracting, compliance and office operations services to healthcare providers. For patients, the firm can help resolve financial concerns pertaining to claims, billing discrepancies, specified diagnosis coverage and more.

"Our mission is to provide clarity in changing healthcare," Ms. Khosh states. "Our method is to assist both the patient and the providers through a revolutionary partnership approach," she adds.
