Meet 40 Under 40 Honoree Justin Irizarry, Co-Founder of OrthoNOW
Justin Irizarry
Justin Irizarry

Founder  Dr. Alejandro Badia announced earlier this week that the South Florida Business Journal has named Co-Founder and CFO Justin Irizarry as an honoree on their  2016 40 Under 40 list. This prestigious annual program receives hundreds of nominations each year and the publication selects only the best and brightest young professionals in South Florida who have "made waves in both the business world and the community".

Mr. Irizarry, a graduate of Cornell University and a Wharton School Fellow, was selected for his contributions to the South Florida community as the CFO and Co-Founder of OrthoNOW the nation's only network of orthopedic urgent care centers, and for his work in developing and activating a business model that changes how South Floridians access expert orthopedic care on-demand and at a cost-effective rate.  Mr. Irizarry said "I am truly humbled to be selected for inclusion on this venerable list and I congratulate all other past and present nominees".

Heartwell, LLP, one of South Florida's premier cardiology groups, announced that it has added three new physicians to the growing practice.  Ivan Buitrago Guevara, MD, Ian del Conde-Pozzi, MD FACC,  and Mario Pascual, MD all join Heartwell at Galloway location at 7400 SW 87 th in Kendall.

Dr. Buitrago is a skilled cardiologist with extensive experience and will be launching Heartwell's new Cardio-Oncology Practice. He noted there are few practices that provide in-depth cardio-oncology evaluations and looks forward to bringing this new and critical skill set to the practice including cutting edge Strain Imaging Technology to detect chemotherapy induced heart disease before it is clinically evident. Dr. Buitrago brings expertise in areas where he is board certified Internal Medicine, Cardiovascular diseases, Echocardiography, Vascular Imaging and Nuclear Cardiology.

Dr. Del Conde is a general cardiologist and also a fellowship-trained vascular medicine specialist.  In addition to general cardiology, Dr. Del Conde's clinical expertise involves the study and treatment of diseases that affect the arterial, venous, and lymphatic systems, such as peripheral artery disease, carotid and renal artery disease, resistant hypertension, venous thromboembolic disease, venous insufficiency and less common vascular diseases, such as fibromuscular dysplasia, and vasculitis.

Dr. Pascual is an electrophysiologist whose expertise includes catheter-based ablation of complex arrhythmias as well as device-based therapy for management of heart failure.  His specialty includes use of advanced imaging technology that has become tremendously important in real-time, 3-D mapping of the heart to guide catheter ablations.
