During our regular service we'll be making 100 sandwich lunches for the women staying at Rachel's House. The shelter provides a safe and drug-free environment for homeless and low-income women and children in San Diego County. Many of the Water's Edge community bring the food items needed to create the lunches. We also collect travel size toiletries that we donate. Look for the sign-up list coming Sunday!

Join us for Coffee with First Church member and author, Cynthia Robertson! A photographer and journalist for more than thirty years, Cynthia also authors a blog at shutterbug-angel.blogspot.com , a unique visual devotional attesting to the everyday miracles and beauty she sees in nature and photographs. Come and hear about her book, Where You See Forever , which is about the power of family and forgiveness.

SACRA/PROFANA has come to attention as a genre-defying ensemble breaking down the barriers between pop, classical, and contemporary music. We proudly continue that tradition with this concert that will feature arrangements of socially aware pop music from the 1960s to the present day, as well as choral music that makes commentary on the issues of our times.

Here in Ocean Beach we support an already well-established food ministry run by several churches. The OB Emergency Food Bank has been feeding people from OB and surrounding areas for 40 years. The distribution takes place at our church three times a week. High on the wish list now: Ez-open cans of tuna, chapstick and hand creams. Thank you for your support!
