Veterans Day Program on Saturday, Nov. 11 at 10:50 a.m. at the National Guard New Armory. There will be speakers, music and a light lunch.

With all of the exciting projects taking headline space, such as the new airport, it's easy to forget Williston is also busy fixing up streets, water and sewer pipes in front of your homes. One such neighborhood in for a facelift in 2018, the Southwest neighborhood, directly between 11th and 2nd streets. Mayor Klug thanks residents for their patience. "That's exactly right. Cooks on Main featured in Business Beat

The Williston STAR Fund provided financial support for Cooks on Main's expansion.Check out the Cooks on Main website and Facebook page for more information about upcoming classes and promotions.
Cooks on Main in Williston is expanding about 2800 square feet. The business added an oil and vinegar bar, a culinary center that offers classes, and a coffee bar. With the additional space, they are able to host 2 to 3 classes a week and can range from nutrition classes, date nights, or category classes such as how to do pressure cooking. "We want our customers to be able to taste, try, and experience the product before they go home," said Angela Skogen, Cooks On Main Owner/Operator.  Read More

The decade-long shale fracking boom in North Dakota sent the population of oil patch communities soaring. These towns beefed up their public services to accommodate all the newcomers, but this sent their finances plummeting at a time when the price of oil tanked.
Now many oil patch cities are tens or even hundreds of millions of dollars in debt. They're looking for stable funding to pay back their loans while hoping all the new residents choose to stay.  Read More 

Shooting Range reopens Near Williston

The public shooting range near Williston has been completely renovated.
The North Dakota Game and Fish has completed work on a public shooting range near Williston. The Lewis and Clark Wildlife Management Area shooting range is 6 miles southwest of Williston and opened Nov. 2 after full renovation. It features 19 concrete shooting benches, including five at 200 yards, nine at 100 yards and five at 25 yards and for pistol/rimfire range. The shooting range is handicapped accessible and is one of five public shooting ranges on state WMAs. Other ranges are near Bismarck, Mandan, Riverdale and Wilton. Read More

NDDOT seeks input on Proposed Active and Public Transportation Plan Nov. 14 in Williston

The NDDOT is seeking public input on plans to improve and expand the state's trail system and much more.
A Public Open House will be held from 4:00 pm to 7:00 pm on Tuesday, November 14, 2017 at Williston City Library (1302 Davidson Drive, Williston, ND 58801). The purpose of the Public Open House is to provide input on ND Moves, a statewide active and public transportation plan for North Dakota. The plan will review and identify existing and emerging needs and recommend strategies for the future of biking, walking, rolling, and transit across the state. Read More

ND Hwy 1804 Construction to  break after Thanksgiving

Construction on ND Hwy 1804 east of Williston will be winding down during the winter months. Construction will continue through the week of Thanksgiving and then will be suspended until next spring. During the project, crews have been working to widen the roadway and add turn lanes and shoulders. Read More

MonDak Ag Research Summit Nov. 15 in Sidney

The City of Williston is sponsoring the MonDak Ag Research Summit. The event is free and open to the public.
Some heavy hitting experts in agriculture are gathering under one roof next week in Sidney, brought together by The Eastern Ag Research Center in Sidney, The NDSU Williston Research Center and the Northern Plains Ag Research Lab in Sidney for an Ag informational summit.
