Recap: Alumni Week 2018
From June 10-16, Gamma Iota Sigma's Alumni Council hosted its inaugural Alumni Week. During this week, Alumni Chapters around the country hosted events and invited both students and other industry professionals to take part. Alumni Week was a huge success! Thank you to the students, alumni, and industry representatives who came out to celebrate with us! Special thanks to the many companies who sponsored our events, including AIG, AmWINS, Nationwide, and CPCU! Lastly, but not least, thank you to the Alumni Council Regional Directors who put so much time and energy into making Alumni Week 2018 such a success! #GISAlumniWeek2018

Insurance Careers Movement Open Letter Campaign

Dive In: The Festival for Diversity & Inclusion in Insurance

Gamma Iota Sigma is pleased to participate in the global Dive In Festival for the third year, chairing Dive In Philadelphia for its inaugural year of events, as well as Dive In Dallas! Dive In is an initiative of Inclusion@Lloyd's, whose aim is to pool resources, widen perspectives and share best practice in diversity and inclusion to effect change faster. As a nod to Dive In but taking place the following week at the 47th Annual International Conference, GIS will again present robust diversity and inclusion programming that encourages and allows students and partner organizations to engage in this critical dialogue. #time4inclusion #awarenessintoaction

Grand Chapter Spotlight: Meet the Board
Wesley Griffiths
Executive Vice President
Wesley is Second Vice President & Actuary at Travelers Insurance in Saint Paul, MN supporting the company’s business insurance segments. He has been on the Gamma Iota Sigma Board of Trustees since 2013 and is currently serving as Executive Vice President of the Executive Committee. Wes graduated with degrees in Mathematics and Economics from the University of Minnesota-Duluth in 2000 and has worked at Travelers Insurance his entire career. Wes achieved his Fellowship in the Casualty Actuarial Society (CAS) in 2009 and, since that time, has served as an active volunteer within the CAS previously having chaired the CAS University Engagement Committee and serving on the CAS Board of Directors from 2014 – 2016. Wes enjoys spending time on the St. Croix River during the beautiful MN summers and getting outside as much as he can throughout the year with his two dogs, Riggins and Lucy.
