Register today for Gamma Iota Sigma's Regional Conference Series! All 93 Gamma Iota Sigma chapters, at-large members, applicant schools, and non-GIS students interested in insurance careers are invited to expand their industry knowledge and connect with industry professionals, career opportunities and resources. Registration deadline: January 8.

Cost to Attend:
  • $10 for all GIS members
  • $25 for non-GIS members

Society of Actuaries 2021 Student Research Case Study Challenge
The SOA’s Research Department is holding a Student Research Case Study Challenge, which provides an opportunity for teams of students to apply their actuarial skills on a real world problem. The 2021 Society of Actuaries Student Research Case Study Challenge will be released on Friday, January 15, 2021. Stay tuned!

Gamma Iota Sigma recently presented "Insuring Opportunity: Your Rewarding & Purpose-Driven Insurance Career" at the INSURPath Virtual Conference. This conversation between GIS Trustees Barbara Bufkin of AmWINS Group, Steve Marohn of CNA, and Dymphna Menéndez of Arch Insurance Group shares insights on opportunities in insurance, finding the right career path, and becoming a purpose-driven leader in our industry.

Due Date: January 15, 2021

The Norm Ziegler Trailblazer Scholarship is available to undergraduate and graduate student members working towards a career in the insurance and risk management industry. Two (2) scholarships valued at $2,000 each will be awarded annually. Apply here.




Due Date: January 31, 2021

The objective of the scholarship is to further students’ interest in the property/casualty actuarial profession and to encourage the pursuit of the CAS designations. The CAS Trust Scholarship Program will award up to eight scholarships to deserving students for the 2021-2022 academic year ranging in amounts from $2,500 to $5,000. Apply here.
