Project-Based Internship Program
Get Experience This Summer
Student registration launches TODAY May 3, 2021.
Gamma Iota Sigma's Project-Based Internship Program allows students whose summer internship opportunities have been affected by recent workforce challenges to gain insurance industry experience virtually while providing employers support for summer projects.

Note: Project opportunities are limited and allocated on a first-come, first-served basis.

The Recruiting Survey is back, and now more than ever WE NEED YOUR INPUT! Take the survey by May 31 for a chance to win a $100 Amazon gift card. Chapters with 10% of membership or more to complete the survey will receive 100 extra MCR points for the 20-21 academic school year.

Gamma Iota Sigma Welcomes New Hire
Welcome, Brandon!

Gamma is pleased to welcome Brandon Patton as Client Services Coordinator! Brandon brings a wealth of knowledge in both the insurance industry and higher education. In his new role with Gamma Iota Sigma, Brandon is responsible for supporting client services and industry partnerships through account maintenance, sponsorship support, and project administration. He holds a Bachelor of Business Administration from the University of Georgia and an MBA from Regis University. Brandon lives in Athens, Georgia, and is an alumnus of the Eta Chapter of Gamma Iota Sigma. Join us in welcoming Brandon!

Leadership Symposium
August 12-13, 2021
Columbus, OH
2021-2022 Gamma Iota Sigma Chapter Officers are invited to join the annual Leadership Symposium - the kickoff to the academic year! This robust two-day leadership event is designed to equip chapter leaders with the necessary tools and resources to effectively run their chapters, connect them with top industry partners, and provide ample opportunities for networking with fellow student leaders.

Registration Cost:
  • President (Or another officer if the president is unable to attend): All costs are covered by the Grand Chapter for the 1st attendee
  • Second Officer: $400, plus the cost of travel 
International Student Representative
Applications Due: July 23, 2021
The International Student Representative (ISR) of Gamma Iota Sigma is the student voice and opinion for the Grand Chapter. The position was created in 1992 and will be elected annually at the Leadership Symposium. This year’s term will run from August 13, 2021, through the 2022 Leadership Symposium.

The Actuary of Tomorrow - Stuart A. Robertson Scholarship is for an undergraduate sophomore, junior, or senior enrolled as a full-time student who has successfully completed at least two actuarial examinations. Award amount: $9,000
Actuary - A Career Change: Elizabeth M. Mauro Reimbursement Award
Application Deadline: August 2, 2021

Actuary - A Career Change: Elizabeth M. Mauro Reimbursement Award is for anyone 25 years or older who has successfully completed at least one actuarial examination. Award amount: $1,000
Noyce Scholarship Program in Math
Application Deadline: Varies

Noyce Scholarship Program in Math is for talented STEM majors and STEM professionals interested in becoming mathematics teachers. Noyce Scholars receive 100% tuition support, a master’s degree and initial teacher licensure, and job placement assistance.
