Day Passes and Memberships Required
All Ganaraska Forest users are required to carry and present their day pass or membership to Ganaraska Region Conservation Authority staff, volunteer patrollers and police, when requested. Purchase your pass or membership online today .
OFSC Trail Usages
If you're visiting the Ganaraska Forest for snowmobiling, you must obtain an Ontario Federation of Snowmobile Clubs trail permit to use the dedicated trails through the forest. Purchase today .
Motorized Use
The Ganaraska Forest is closed to all motorized use, with the expectation of snowmobiling, from December 1st through to May 1st. Visit our website for a refresher on forest rules and regs .
Horseback Riding
The snowmobile, cross-country ski and snowshoeing trails are off limits to horses during winter months. A friendly reminder that the forest is closed to horseback riders from March 1st through April 30th. For further information about this recreational use, see the FAQ brochure , developed in partnership with the Ganaraska Forest Horse Club.
Cross-Country Ski Trails
Hiking, biking, dogs, and horses are not permitted on the cross-country ski trails during the ski season. Cross-country ski trail condition updates can be found on the Ganaraska Region Conservation Authority and Ganaraska Forest Centre websites, and on the Ganaraska Forest Facebook page.
Closures
The Ganaraska Forest will be closed to non-motorized use, with the exception of hiking and cross-country skiing, from March 1st to April 30th of each year.
