Ganim Breaks Rules To Enrich Himself... Again
Bridgeport, CT - After a New York Times, and two CT Post articles, profiling the sale and illegal rental of his million dollar Black Rock home within the last ten days, will the Joe Ganim property story be coming to a close?... it's just getting started.
The January 2021 informal hearing involving the mayor's brother Tom with the city's revaluation company followed by the purchase of two properties on Thorne Place including an English Tudor mansion and an adjacent build-able lot in a private sale to Joe Ganim for $339K ten days later should raise ethical concerns. To the extensive renovations and lack of proper permits, to the illegal rentals and the current listing of the property for sale for $1.35 million; these questionable activities should be investigated in more detail.
Sadly, this is not the first time Ganim has violated the rules in an effort to enrich himself. In 2016, less than one year in office in his second stint as mayor, Ganim listed and rented one of his Black Rock properties on Airbnb in violation of the Cove Condo Association rules. The August 2016 CT Post article, "Ganim claims Black Rock condo as home" also raises the question as where exactly Joe Ganim actually resides.
Given all these real estate transactions, growing rental empire, side hustle as an Airbnb Superhost, his recent efforts to have his law license re-instated, and his failed run for Governor, is Joe Ganim fully committed to leading the City of Bridgeport as Mayor?
The John Gomes For Mayor campaign will continue to follow these actions taken by Mayor Ganim to acquire the property, reduce the taxes, and the fast tracking of renovation work as more documents and details are uncovered.
