GARAGE BANDS CONCERTS ARE BACK
Summer Concert Series Kicks Off Friday, July 17

Our popular and award-winning concert series returns with a free show this Friday, July 17, at 6 pm  featuring Yoma, Moon Worship, and lastdayshining.

These all-ages live shows take place in the Washington Avenue Branch's garage, off the Elk Street parking lot. In addition to some great music, each show features a garage sale of gently used CDs for just $1 each.

Here's a little more info about Friday's featured bands:

Albany's Yoma is a three-piece post-metal band that brings a "fresh, hard-hitting sound to the instrumental rock genre while retaining a familiar grandeur and elegance."

Upstate New York's Moon Worship is a primitive rhythm and blues band that features "scuzzy electronics...ghostly vocals and keys...and growling bass and back-alley croon."

Albany's lastdayshining is a hard-hitting, post-rock band with a "sound characterized by expressive instrumental buildups that travel travel through a range of dynamic changes from quiet lows to bone-crushing highs."
