On behalf of the Garces Memorial community, I would like to welcome our Class of 2028 to the Garces family. On Tuesday, April 9th Garces held a special celebration for the 158 students who have been accepted to date. They were greeted by a number of our school's student Rambassadors and enjoyed a fun game of smash ball, corn hole, signed the Class of 2028 banner and took the opportunity for a quick selfie in front of the Garces step and repeat. The students and their families were welcomed by our Principal, Noel Leon then addressed by our ASB President Jocelyn Sala who gave a recap of her four years at Garces and what the experience has meant to her. She then presented a special gift from our soon-to-be graduates from the Class of 2024; their top ten helpful hints to ensure the incoming freshmen have a positive and memorable experience as Garces Rams. Junior Brandon Antongiovanni shared the history of the school's victory bell and what it represents. Then the time came when every student was invited to ring the victory bell. You can read Jocie's comments, ten tips from the Class of 2024 and the victory bell history and ceremony below.
After the celebration, students and families attended an information night where they met their Garces counselors and some of the Garces academic team. The students and their families received important information to help with the transition from junior high to Garces.
In my first year as the Director of Admissions, I have thoroughly enjoyed meeting this great group of young people and their families. I'm honored to welcome them to Garces. I look forward to watching them flourish as members of the Garces "Ramily". My thanks to their parents and guardians for seeing the value of a faith-based, college preparatory school with a holistic approach to their student's high school experience.
Blessings and Congratulations to All!

Helping Hands Club
Dear children, let us not love with words or tongue but with actions and in truth.

The Helping Hands Club met Thursday during Enrichment and made lunches for the homeless. The sack lunches were delivered to the St. Vincent de Paul Homeless Center. Giving to others and having compassion for those in need is a core value the Helping Hands Club instills in its members.
Gala Student Contest Winners
We rewarded our top three homeroom classes on Monday with a field trip to the McDermont Field House in Lindsay. The students traveled on a double-decker bus and spent the day rock climbing, playing laser tag, surfing, and playing arcade games. It was a fun day, full of laughter, great memories, and a deserving reward for those classes who went above and beyond to support the Garces Gala. Thank you again to Mrs. Thompson, Ms. Salazar, and Ms Rossi for their support.

Black Student Union
It has been a busy month for Garces BSU! The incredible members have been making waves and leaving their mark on campus in more ways than one. From attending not just one, but two electrifying assemblies to lending our support to JCW Kicks with their inspiring "Showing Up" assemblies, they've been on the move, spreading positivity and empowerment every step of the way. JCW Kicks for Kids, a phenomenal non-profit organization dedicated to providing shoes to less fortunate youth, stole the spotlight with their mission-driven message, and BSU were honored to be a part of it as they geared up for state testing season. Assisting with assemblies igniting excitement and rewarding those students who've shown 100 percent attendance dedication. In addition, BSU is gearing up for the UCLA college campus tour on May 7. BSU members continue with more exciting activities as the school year progresses. Club moderator is Mrs. Edwards at sedwards@garces.org.
