Garces FFA - World Ag Expo
Submitted by FFA Chapter Reporter, Jordan Van Skike
Wednesday, Garces FFA was able to experience the wonderful world of agriculture at this year’s World Ag Expo! There were endless exhibits and educational booths, and students were able to explore anything that interested them, from the college they plan to attend to the industry they may pursue, and so much more. Future beef exhibitors even had the opportunity to watch a cattle fitting demonstration, thanks to Cal Youth Expo. We were also excited to see our state officers again and we can’t wait for State Conference! Our entire day at the World Ag Expo was a day filled with learning and tons of fun!
Meals With Love Club
The Meals with Love Club makes dinner each month for the families at the Ronald McDonald House. Alyssa Hurtado came up with the idea to not only prepare dinner, but to deliver some toys that can be used by the families during their stay. Olivia Michaud and Jordan Van Skike agreed it was a great idea and the three of them gathered toys and delivered them on Wednesday.
75th Anniversary Logo Contest
Next year Garces Memorial High School will celebrate its 75th year of providing Excellence in Catholic Education. We've asked our students to design the anniversary logo. Students will submit logos and the entire student body will vote for the winning logo. The winner will be announced at the Spring Rally on March 25th and will receive $100.

“We are His workmanship, created in Christ Jesus for good works, which God prepared beforehand, that we should walk in them.” We serve and volunteer confidently, knowing that God has prepared the way for us!" - Ephesians 2:10

Catholic Prayer Breakfast
Kern Catholic's 4th annual Prayer Breakfast is March 24th at St. Francis. This year's keynote speaker is Dr. Mario Enzler. Dr. Mario Enzler has a rich and diverse academic and professional formation. After finishing his studies in Milan, he joined the Swiss Guard and served under St. John Paul II for three years in the double capacity of soldier and conductor of the Swiss Guard Band. Following his time of service at the Vatican, he joined UBS and worked for eighteen years in investment banking and corporate finance. While traveling around the world working in the banking industry, he received professional formation and obtained the CFA and the IAF. He then left the financial world for full-time work in Catholic education. He can be often found speaking at conferences or men's retreats where he shares about the role Saint John Paul II had in helping him into a better man, executive, and leader.
