Garces Families,
Welcome to the 2024-25 school year!
With God’s guidance, we are off to a great start to the school year. Yesterday we celebrated our seniors with the Senior Sunrise tradition. Watching the Class of 2025 interact and come together as a class during the event again showed me what a blessing your students are to our school. I am excited to see what God has planned for us this year.
To our new families; welcome! I hope your students’ experiences have been positive thus far. Please know our student leaders, administrative team, and faculty want to ensure every student has a sense of belonging here at Garces. We know the transition to Garces can be challenging at times. If you find your student is finding it difficult to adjust, please reach out. We all want to do our part to make this a positive learning environment for all students.
Being the Catholic High School in Bakersfield is an honor. Our school has had the privilege of serving Bakersfield and the outlying areas for over 75 years. Just think about the impact all those alumni have had on our community. Thank you for entrusting us with your future Garces alumni. We know their future is bright and we are fortunate to have them on our campus.
Our Mission calls us to instill in every member of the Garces Memorial community the courage to act with faith, knowledge, compassion, and justice. I look forward to continuing to partner with the entire Garces community to fulfill our mission. The rich traditions of Garces are unmatched because of our Garces community.
God Bless and Go Rams!

Activity Corner
Our Rams have been busy kicking off the school year with enthusiasm and spirit! The senior class of 2025 got creative with their personalized parking spaces, transforming the lot into a colorful display of personality and pride.
The Aloha Rally and Dance brought the tropical vibes to campus, with students showing off their best Hawaiian gear and school spirit. Big shoutout to ASB for hosting both events.
The Senior Sunrise was a special moment as our seniors gathered early to watch the sun rise on their final year at Garces. The event was filled with reflection, laughter, and the promise of an exciting year ahead.
Friday, we’re excited for our 'Touchdowns and Tailgates' event! Hosted by FFA and ASB, the quad will be buzzing with patriotic spirit before the big game against Paraclete. Don’t forget to dress in red, white, and blue and get ready for some fun games, music, and a best-dressed competition. Go Rams!
