Dear Garden House Residents, Family Members and Responsible Parties,
Residents spent the week staying active with virtual exercise classes, getting creative with stained glass painting, keeping sharp by playing Bingo, and enjoying visits from the snack cart. Last weekend, delicious Buffalo Bills-themed treats were offered to residents who enjoyed a socially distant viewing party for the game. We hope the Bills make it all the way!

“I was excited to get my vaccine! I have done a lot of research from valid sources and medical experts regarding its effectiveness and safety, and decided it is what is best for me, my family, and the residents. I am looking forward to things going back to normal and can't wait to travel and spend time with family again! I also am looking forward to when it is safe for the residents to visit with their families!”

Ongoing Safety Precautions
The COVID-19 vaccine is a step in the right direction, but we cannot yet let our guard down. We continue to adhere to the following safety precautions to protect and care for residents and staff on campus.
-
Per Department of Health (DOH) recommendations, please do not take residents out of Garden House except for medically necessary appointments. Staying onsite is the best way to protect residents from contracting COVID-19.
- Care for residents with COVID-19 is provided within one unit to prevent the potential spread. We continue to work closely with the DOH to follow the latest recommendations and requirements.
-
To ensure safety for everyone, all staff wear personal protective equipment required by the DOH, including N95 masks, eye protection throughout all units and resident areas (face shields or goggles), gowns, and gloves. Staff training on best practices is ongoing as we strive to provide the best possible care. In addition, we continue to follow DOH guidelines to test staff for COVID-19.
-
Our facility uses a comprehensive, science-based disinfection program that includes a pulsed UV disinfection system proven to eliminate pathogens such as coronavirus from surfaces in seconds. This technology is also used in many hospitals. In addition, we continue to use our Storm 2 Pro Dual Pressure sprayer to sanitize difficult to reach areas, beyond surface cleaning. Our 7-step cleaning process follows CDC infection control guidance using hospital-grade disinfectants.
