January 29, 2021 Dear Garden House Residents, Family Members and Responsible Parties,  We've had quite the busy week here at Garden House! Many residents enjoyed the socially distanced January birthday celebration with delicious treats, and some got their creative juices flowing by participating in a relaxing afternoon of coloring. Also pictured below are a few of our residents posing proudly after receiving the first dose of the Pfizer COVID-19 vaccine this past Monday. Many are looking forward to making oreo balls in today's Cooking Club, and receiving manicures this weekend. What a treat!

COVID-19 Vaccine Update We are pleased with CVS Health as they successfully completed the first dose of the Pfizer COVID-19 vaccine for our residents earlier this week. The vaccine schedule is below: February 15 - 1st and 2nd dose opportunities March 8 - 2nd dose opportunity

Ongoing Safety Precautions   We continue to adhere to the following safety precautions to protect and care for residents and staff on campus.   Per Department of Health (DOH) recommendations, please do not take residents out of Garden House except for medically necessary appointments. Care for residents with COVID-19 is provided within one unit to prevent the potential spread. We continue to work closely with the DOH to follow the latest recommendations and requirements. Our facility uses a comprehensive, science-based 7-step disinfection program that includes a pulsed UV disinfection system proven to eliminate pathogens from surfaces in seconds. This technology is also used in many hospitals. To ensure everyone’s safety, we continue to follow the DOH requirements in utilizing personal protective equipment such as face masks, eye protection, gowns, and gloves.

Visitation At this time, we have one positive case of COVID-19 in a staff member. Per DOH guidelines, restricted in-person visitation is temporarily suspended and is tentatively scheduled to resume February 8, pending we have no new cases of COVID-19 for 14 consecutive days, and pending there are no changes in DOH regulations regarding visitation Skype & Window Visits Contact Brennan Costello at [email protected], or call (716) 639-3311 ext. 2447.
