Dear Garden House Residents, Family Members and Responsible Parties,

We hope you are having a great week and are staying warm! Garden House residents spent their week doing crossword puzzles, creating Thanksgiving crafts, writing in their gratitude journals and engaging in memory activities.

Introducing: Brennan Costello
We are pleased to introduce our new Activities Coordinator, Brennan Costello. Originally from Syracuse, Brennan graduated from the University of Buffalo this year with a Bachelor of Science in psychology, and began her journey at Weinberg Campus a few months ago as a part-time activities assistant. We are lucky that she decided to stay in Buffalo and work with our Garden House residents full time! Learn more about Brennan, below.
What are you most excited about in your new role?

"I am most excited to get to know all the residents and families better in this new position. Getting to know the residents has been my favorite part of the job!"

Fun fact about you:

"I got my scuba diving certification when I was 16 years old, and last summer I spent a few weeks in Belize with a volunteer group to perform research on Belize's barrier reef."

What do you want families to know?

"I want the residents and families to know that I'm here to do whatever I can to make things a little better for everyone, especially during this pandemic. Residents can always reach out to me for anything they might need, and I will do my best to help in whatever way I can."

Visitation Update
We have zero COVID-19 cases among residents and staff at Garden House.

Visits with your loved one can be scheduled by completing our online pre-appointment questionnaire. The Department of Health (DOH) requires completion of this questionnaire each time you visit. Click here for visiting hours and protocols.

Skype or window visits can be scheduled by contacting Brennan Costello at bcostello@weinbergcampus.org, (716) 639-3311 ext. 2447.

If you would like to receive additional updates about your loved one, please contact Garden House Case Manager, Cindy Clark, at cclark@weinbergcampus.org, ext. 2448.

Visitation Guidance
With Thanksgiving right around the corner, the DOH has shared guidance discouraging residents from leaving Garden House for gatherings. This guidance aims to keep residents and staff safe and healthy, for as of this week, much of Erie County has been designated as an orange zone as community spread of COVID-19 has increased.

If a resident must leave for a medically necessary appointment, the following safety protocols are recommended: wear a mask, use hand sanitizer, and practice social distancing.

As a reminder, any resident who leaves the facility is required by the DOH to quarantine for 10 days upon their return to Garden House. If you need to arrange for a resident to leave the facility, please contact Cindy Clark, at cclark@weinbergcampus.org, ext. 2448. We take COVID-19 very seriously and appreciate your understanding.
During the Thanksgiving season, and always, we are thankful for the support you have provided to both your loved one and our employees.

If you have questions, please don’t hesitate to contact me.
