Dear Garden House Residents, Family Members and Responsible Parties,

We are pleased to let you know that visits to residents of Garden House will begin this Wednesday, July 22. We can only imagine how happy you are to be able to finally visit your loved ones. It has been a long time!

Governor Cuomo and the New York State Department of Health have created strict guidelines designed to minimize the potential for the spread of COVID-19 while opening up for visitation. We have taken this guidance into account in creating our process for visits at Garden House. We know that you feel the same way we do – the restrictions will be well worth the opportunity to see your loved ones and keep everyone safe while doing so!

Visits need to be scheduled in advance. You can begin the process by completing a brief online pre-appointment questionnaire, which you will find by clicking h ere: https://www.surveymonkey.com/r/ZSDHR92 . The questionnaire is required by the Department of Health and serves both as your request for a visit and your consent to follow visitation guidelines. Once you submit the questionnaire, one of our staff members will call you to schedule your vis it. Visiting hours are 10 am - noon and 1:30 - 3:30 pm daily. Visits are scheduled for 20 minutes in length, and the visiting area will be cleaned between visits.

Here are some things to anticipate when you arrive for your visit:
  • All visitors will be screened for COVID-19 signs or symptoms. This will include a temperature check and a list of questions that our staff person will ask you about potential exposure to the virus and any recent travel.

  • All visitors will be required to use hand sanitizer upon arrival and must wear a mask that covers your nose and mouth.
  • Individuals must social distance throughout the visit by remaining 6 feet apart.

  • Only two individuals will be able to visit a resident at any one time. Individuals under 18 years old must be accompanied by an adult over 18.

  • A staff member will supervise all visits.
Again, these Department of Health mandates are designed to keep everyone safe – residents, visitors, and staff members. Following these guidelines is very important so that we may continue to offer visits. If a COVID-19 case arises in a resident or staff member, we will be required to close visitation for a minimum of 28 days.

We are so happy that you will be able to visit your loved ones in person! We look forward to seeing you soon!
