Smooth Hydrangea Hydrangea arborescens

Hydrangea arborescens, commonly called Smooth Hydrangea, are native to North America and will produce stunning mounded or lacecap flowers that can be white, lime green, or various shades of pink. They range in height from the smallest, ‘Invincibelle Wee White’ (20-30”) to ‘Incrediball’ (3-5’) and all are pollinator friendly and drought tolerant. One of the best features of Smooth Hydrangeas is the fact that they form their flower buds on new wood (in spring), which means they will bloom despite even the harshest of winters. These shrubs are great choices for locations where snow damage can be an issue, since all stems can be cut to the ground in spring. They are hardy to Zone 3 (30 to 40 degrees below zero) and enjoy full to part sun. Come check these beauties out. We have 8 fantastic cultivars to choose from!
