Good afternoon -
Thanks to everyone who has reached out to us in the last few weeks about the installation of the Garden Street Safety Improvement Project.
Installation Update
We still haven't fully installed the project, and hope to finish by adding flex posts and colored surface treatments soon.
With the change to one-way operation for vehicles traveling between Huron Avenue and Concord Avenue, we are seeing an increase in traffic volume on many nearby streets. We expect much of this increase to be temporary.
Since the change in directionality occurred, City staff have been observing impacts to side streets, listening to feedback from community members, and making changes to reduce traffic backups. We welcome feedback on what specific intersections and streets we should look at—please don't hesitate to reach out via the contact information on our project page.
Listening Sessions
We've received a large amount of community feedback on the switch to one-way traffic. We are hosting two Listening Sessions to hear more:
These listening sessions are being held in addition to a meeting this evening that we're holding at the request of Raymond Street neighbors. This evening's meeting will focus primarily on impacts to Raymond Street.
If you can't attend one of the sessions or have feedback you would like to share immediately, please reach out via the contact information on our project page.
