Internet Safety
When I was growing up, one of the most difficult talks for a parent to have with their child was about the “birds and the bees.” Today, since kids access the Internet and connect with peers through more devices and apps than ever before, Internet safety has become the new “talk” that parents must have with their children. Not sure where or when to start having the talk?

Hello Garfield Families! It feels GREAT to be back at Garfield where the students and staff are doing amazing things every day!
A big focus this school year will be on PBIS. PBIS stands for
P
ositive,
B
ehavior,
I
nterventions, &
S
upports. This is a school wide behavior system that is centered around teaching & reteaching appropriate behaviors in the classroom, hallway, lunchroom, bathroom, as well as, the playground & bus. Behaviors are taught similar to the way reading and math are taught. The primary goal of PBIS is to prevent behavior issues through positive language and reinforcements. I encourage you to
to visit the Wisconsin PBIS network, and learn more about this statewide and districtwide initiative.
I am looking forward to a great year, and building lasting relationships with all of you!
