Next week we will begin STAR testing. You can help increase the likelihood for success by ensuring that your child has both a good night's rest, and a well balanced breakfast. While our teachers work hard to prepare students academically, parents and guardians can help too by providing their children with the energy needed to think! Home and school working together make a great team!

The School District of Marinette continues to work on its Talented and Gifted identification and programming. Programming for talented and gifted students will allow the district to assure all students’ needs are being met by addressing unique individual needs so every learner can achieve their highest level of excellence.

We will be administering a group intelligence assessment, the Cognitive Abilities Test ™ ( CogAT ® ) Form 7,  for all 3rd grade students . This assessment reflects the most current research in the measurement of cognitive abilities and learning styles.  Garfield 3rd graders will take this test the week of February 17, 2020.
