Community Development Department Honored
Garland’s Community Development Department was recognized by the National Community Development Association for its efforts to partner with community organizations and federal housing funds to provide a home to an Army veteran on Veterans Day 2021.

Adult Craft Workshop Saturday, April 23
Adults age 18 and older can celebrate Earth Day by making a hanging planter out of recycled materials at 4 p.m. Saturday, April 23, at the South Garland Branch Library, 4845 Broadway Blvd.
Create a unique planter from a repurposed soda bottle, then add soil and seeds to start growing a plant that you can take home!

Construction Work to Begin at Forest Lane and Shiloh Road
Beginning, Monday, April 11, the City will start the process of replacing the concrete pavement on both sides of the Dallas, Garland & Northeastern Railroad, Inc. railroad crossing on Forest Lane just east of South Shiloh Road.
Various lanes will be closed throughout the repair. The construction process should be completed within four to six weeks, weather permitting.

COVID-19 Vaccines, Boosters Available at Garland's Public Health Clinic
You can get the COVID-19 vaccine or booster without an appointment at our Public Health Clinic, 206 Carver St., between 7:30 a.m. and 5:30 p.m. Monday through Friday.
The Public Health Clinic is a vaccine site, not a testing site. Every home in the U.S. can now order four free at-home COVID-19 tests at covidtests.gov.
