2022 was a memorable year for us in the City of Garland. Lots of ground breaking and ribbon-cutting events, activities and new development that make Garland what it is today. Take a look back.

New Year’s Holiday Hours and Services

City of Garland offices, utility customer service and tax offices, recreation centers and senior centers, and libraries will be closed Monday, Jan. 2, for the New Year holiday. All facilities will return to normal schedules Tuesday, Jan. 3. These facilities are closed all Sundays, including Jan. 1.

Christmas Tree Disposal for Garland Residents

Garland residents can help free up space in the landfill by dropping off trees at no cost at the Wood Recycling Facility, 3175 Elm Grove Road, during normal business hours.

You can also place your undecorated, live tree on the curb for brush and bulky pickup.

Not sure what to do with wrapping paper, ribbons and other trimmings? Use the Waste Wizard to make sure you’re recycling right! Please note that artificial trees are NOT recyclable in blue recycling carts.
