City Celebrates its First Hospital, Gathers Input on Site's Future
Neighbors, planners and City officials met at 1002 Marion Drive on Thursday, March 24, to celebrate the City's first hospital and share visions for the site's future.

Demolition on the building started March 22. But before it became history, the City held an event to share memories and to provide input on what they want to have happen to the property. Visit to learn more about the event and the former hospital site.

Spring Rain Barrel Sale Ends Tuesday, April 5
The City of Garland Water Utilities Department is offering an opportunity to purchase rain barrels at a discounted price. Through a cooperative purchase, the classic black, 50-gallon Ivy rain barrel is being offered for $78 each (normal retail price is $139).

Barrels must be ordered by Tuesday, April 5, and must be picked up from Garland Water Operations, 2343 Forest Lane, between 3 and 7 p.m. Tuesday, April 19, or Wednesday, April 20. Please bring a vehicle large enough to carry your order on pickup day.

Guest Speaker Series: Wildflowers of Spring Creek
Regionally acclaimed botany enthusiast and preservationist Carol Clark will talk about the wildflowers of Spring Creek via Zoom from 7 to 8:30 p.m. Tuesday, April 5.

Clark’s presentation will show a few of our amazing, diverse collection of native flowers, including milkweed and tiny orchids.

Masterpiece Redux: Vincent Van Gogh
Create your own masterpiece based on celebrated artist Vincent Van Gogh.

Adults 18 and older can learn about Van Gogh’s unique style and use of color in this creative painting lesson at 4 p.m. Saturday, April 9, at Central Library, 625 Austin St.

All materials will be provided. Registration is required and limited to 20 participants. Call 972-205-2501 to register.
Egg Scramble Wednesday, April 13
Hop on over to Audubon Park for a chance to hunt for colorful candy and toy-filled eggs! The egg hunt is free and no registration is necessary.

Activities include bounce houses, face painting, selfies with the Easter Bunny and snacks for sale.

All age groups will start the hunt at 6 p.m. Wednesday, April 13, at the Carter Softball Complex in Audubon Park, 550 W. Oates Road.
COVID-19 Vaccines, Boosters Available at Garland's Public Health Clinic

You can get the COVID-19 vaccine or booster without an appointment at our Public Health Clinic, 206 Carver St., between 7:30 a.m. and 5:30 p.m. Monday through Friday.
