Water Maintenance Begins March 4
The North Texas Municipal Water District (NTMWD) will conduct its annual chlorine maintenance process on our water system from March 4 through April 1.

During this time, customers may notice a stronger taste or smell of chlorine. It is important to note that the quality of our drinking water remains safe for all uses, including drinking.

HOA Legal Clinic March 9
Join us from 8 a.m. to noon Saturday, March 9, for the 2019 HOA Legal Clinic conducted in partnership with the City of Plano and in collaboration with the DFW Chapter of the Community Associations Institute. 

This year's event costs $10 per person and will be held at the Spring Creek Campus of Collin College in Plano, 2800 E. Spring Creek Parkway.

The clinic features attorneys, property managers and others specializing in HOA governance. You won't want to miss it!
Parks, Recreation & Cultural Arts Department Wins Lone Star Programming Achievement Award
On Feb. 21, the Garland Parks, Recreation & Cultural Arts Department received an award for innovative and effective recreation programming at the 2019 Texas Recreation and Park Society (TRAPS) State Conference in El Paso.
 
The Lone Star Programming Achievement Award honors a new program or special event offered for the first time. Garland earned the award for the Garland Guzzler 0.5K Race & Oktoberfest. The unique and original event was held in September 2018, with more than 200 runners and 500 to 1,000 spectators, and will continue in September 2019. Learn more .

May 4 General Election Information
Garland voters will have many items to consider in the May 4 General Election. Voters will elect a mayor and City Council representatives for districts 3, 6, 7 and 8. Voters also will consider eight bond propositions. For more information about City elections, visit the City Secretary's web page. Details about the bond propositions are being produced and will be available on the 2019 Bond Program web page soon.
